Laila Abbas is a Palestinian filmmaker who studied cinema and TV production at Royal Holloway University in the UK. She made her first three short films between 2010 and 2012, followed by her feature documentary Ice & Dust in 2014, which screened at several festivals.
In 2016 and 2017, she wrote and directed two more short films. She worked as an academic teaching cinema at several Palestinian universities before becoming the head programmer of Palestine Cinema Days for several years. Laila's debut feature narrative film, Thank You for Banking with Us!, was released in October 2024 and won several awards.
