About the Opening Event: Tunisia 10 Years After the Peace Prize
Tunisia and the Jasmine Revolution were often highlighted as the only success story of the Arab Spring. However, in the years following the revolution, the country has struggled with economic decline and political instability.
Ten years after the National Dialogue Quartet was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, we take a closer look at Tunisia’s development since the revolution and the peace prize. What can we learn from the laureates’ efforts for dialogue and democracy, and how can these lessons help address today’s challenges?
The conversation will be moderated by Henrik Syse, who was one of the five members of the Nobel Committee when the prize was awarded in 2015. In conversation with:
- Ragnhild Johnsrud Zorgati, Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Oslo
- Soumaya Nadia Hedhili, Chairperson of the Tunisian Association in Norway
This event is a collaboration between the Nobel Peace Center, the Tunisian Embassy in Oslo, and the Arab Film Days.
