A movie about the Palestinian refugees' struggle and resistance to occupation, seen from a child's perspective. The year is 1967 and the Six Day War between Israel and its neighbouring countries has just ended. Gaza and the West Bank have become occupied. Somewhere between 125.000 and 250.000 Palestinians have left their homes and become refugees. Tareq is one of them. He has fled to a refugee camp in Jordan with his mother. He longs for home and finds it difficult to understand why they cannot go back. He runs away and finds a new home among a group of resistance fighters he meets on the road. A powerful movie about war seen through the eyes of a child. Beautifully directed by Annemarie Jacir (Salt of This Sea) and with an impressive performance by 11 year old newcomer Mahmoud Asfa.
