The Message
The film classic of the year is an epic drama about the prophet Muhammad’s life and the beginning of Islam. There have been made over 200 films about Jesus, 120 about Moses and 42 about Buddha, but only three films about the prophet Muhammad. During this year’s Arab Film Days we will show the best of the three films The Message from 1976. The film follows the prophet Muhammad until his death and the first Muslims that receive the revelations on the Herat Mountain. Muhammad himself is represented from a first person perspective to respect the prohibition on portraying the prophet in Islam. Speaking of genre, this film can almost be associated as an adventure film that combines outstanding scenes in combat and a lot of suspension with a story that gives a simple introduction in how one of the world’s biggest religions arose. This is a mandatory film for anyone interested in the religion of Islam and its origin.
The Arabic version will be screened in Victoria 4 Saturday 16 April.
The English version will be screened in Victoria 1 Sunday 17 April.
The film approved by Al-Azhar in Egypt and the Shia Council i Libanon.
OBS! We are screening both the Arabic and the American version of the film. The two versions have different actors and length and will not be screened with subtitles.
