69 minutter av 86 dager
Being a refugee, traveling from Syria to Sweden, is definitely dramatic. But how does a three-year-old girl experience this journey? In 69 Minutes of 86 Days, we meet Lean, a little girl and her family. They are travelling from Syria, all the way through Europe to their relatives in Sweden. Egil Håskjold Larsen, the film’s director and photographer, begins the film by letting the camera linger on life jackets lying on a beach in Greece – a familiar image for most of us. He continues, quietly and observing, filming the refugees that are waiting to leave the country. The documentary has no narrator, no talking heads and it is often filmed from Lean’s perspective. Like the title implicates, Håskjold Larsen follows this family for 86 days, and we as audience, experience how chaotic the world can seem when you are a little girl, fleeing from your home. The result is a beautiful and highly relevant movie, showing all the sides of a being a refugee travelling through Europe.
Egil Håskjold Larsen has a master degree in documentary film from Volda University College. He has years of experience as a photographer and has directed several short documentaries, including Danser for deg from 2015.
