Ghost Trail
In this intense thriller, a Syrian refugee in France hunts for the man who tortured him while he was held captive in Syria.
Hamid was once a professor of literature in Aleppo, but his life was completely shattered when he was imprisoned by the authorities and subjected to prolonged torture. He barely escaped with his life, but his wife and daughter were killed in a bombing. After moving to France, he begins working for a secret European organization that tracks down and arrests Syrian war criminals. He is tasked with finding Sami Hanna, also known as Harfaz, the man who tortured him in prison. Hamid becomes obsessed with tracking him down and becomes convinced that Harfaz is hiding under the guise of a university student named Hasaan.
Ghost Trail had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024 and was nominated for two César Awards in France.
