My Memory is Full of Ghosts
Through the residents of the Syrian city of Homs, MY MEMORY IS FULL OF GHOSTS reflects on the past, present, and future of the city and country.
Anas Zawahri's documentary about Homs is a deeply moving portrait of the city. The film explores the trauma its residents carry after the Syrian civil war, and Zawahri poses the question: Is it possible to reconnect with a hometown so scarred by pain and suffering?
Through static shots of bombed-out buildings, intercut with scenes of everyday life, the film masterfully reflects on the futility of war and how those caught in its midst manage to navigate daily life despite everything.
