ABOUT THE MOVIE
Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim was a great success among the audience at the Arab Film Days in 2017, it had several sold-out screenings, and a lot of people has asked for this movie to be shown again.
A man who falls in love with a goat goes on an adventure with a sound technician with hearing difficulties. It has the form of a classic road-movie, but with content and characters that are so absurd that this is still an extremely original movie. The journey that Ali, Ibrahim and the Goat sets off to together can be read as an expression for the all-encompassing power of love, or as an attack on the authoritarian regime in Egypt. The movie is probably best enjoyed if it is not overanalyzed, but taken for what it is: A story about two men in crisis and a goat that tries to save them both. This is a fresh breeze within Arabic film that you rarely have seen the likes of!
ABOUT ATLAS BAND
For six years we have arranged tremendous parties in cooperation with Atlas band, which is led by Abdel Ali Boubadillah. Atlas band was established in 1994, and is strongly inspired by the Moroccan cultural heritage and Arabian African music. Among other things the band plays gnawa, chaabi, rai, classical Arabic music and folk music, and will this evening be serving us a taste from the Middle East’s rich music tradition, from Iraq in the east to Morocco in the west. This unique concert is not something to be missed, and we guarantee high temperatures and a good atmosphere among the band’s faithful, dance-loving audience.
Adile Adam settled in Strasbourg, has participated in several concerts around Europe, and is known for his pleasant voice. His music is strongly influenced by George Wassouf and Kadem Al Saher, icons in the Arab world. He has developed a unique and personal style deeply rooted in classical and popular Arabic music traditions.
